Tips To Effectively Avoid Bad Breath


Halitosis, or bad breath is one thing major health concern that should be taken seriously. Halitosis is due to bacteria in the mouth breaking down proteins to volatile Sulphur Compounds that smell. Bad breath can be an embarrassing condition to suffer from. However, there are several simple steps that anyone can take to avoid bad breath.

 1. Eating plain yogurt for 6 weeks can sweeten your breath because it reduces levels of offensive compounds produced by bacteria in the mouth by 80%.

 2. Sugar is food for bacteria, but it is starch that is the culprit causing sugar to stay in contact with your teeth and gums. If you can avoid sugar altogether, at least avoid foods that combine sugar and flour.

 3. Controlling bad breath is to chew sugar free cinnamon gum. Studies show that chewing cinnamon flavored gum can control bad breath. There is an ingredient only found in cinnamon flavored gum that decreases the bacteria in your mouth. The cinnamon gum has to be sugarless however, as sugar based gums are bad for your teeth.

 4. After you eat, tiny particles of food remain on your tongue, and with time, develop bacteria and begin to decay, causing bad breath. Along with regularly brushing your teeth, brushing or scraping your tongue in the morning and before bedtime can help to eliminate the problem. Brushing your teeth daily and after major meals, in addition to daily flossing and rinsing will help keep your teeth healthy and gums free of bacteria buildup and plaque, significantly minimizing halitosis.

 5. Wash the tongue with baking soda dissolved in warm water to reduce the acidity in your mouth, making a less-friendly environment for the bacteria to grow. This is one of the best bad breath cure.

 6. Black, green, and white tea, as well as red or rooibos tea, drunk up to 4 times a day, all provide tannins. These naturally occurring compounds an?the lining of the mouth and tongue so that they do not crack and fissure and give bacteria a place to grow. Common conditions that result in bad breath, such as Sj?gren syndrome, getting over the flu, or treatment for irritable bladder or Parkinson disease, respond well to drinking tea.

 7. Bad breath is to drink more water. Water inhibits the build up of bacteria in your mouth which causes bad breath. Drink more water and you will lower the amount of this bacteria.

 8. As effective as a toothbrush can be, sometimes it simply can get your entire mouth as clean as it could be. Flossing, or using a water pick can reach in those tight places under your gums and between your teeth where particles of food collect and decay.

 9. Molybdenum activates the enzyme sulfite oxidase, which is important for your entire body, but a cause of halitosis. Bad breath is a more commonly recognized problem in countries in which the diet contains high amounts of molybdenum. You can get too much molybdenum if your diet is high in liver-based products.
